We started the bakery at the beginning of lockdown in our garage in Rode, Somerset.
The Village Baking Co. set out to bring real bread and other delectable bakes to the people of Rode and beyond.
Now in our third version we're back in the heart of the village, serving the community directly once more.
Every Sunday our orders open via the Open Food Network (the link can be found at the top of our page). You have until Wednesday at midnight to place your orders for Friday and/or Saturday collection each week.
Collection hours are 10-1pm every Friday and Saturday.
Why pre-order?
We are operating on a much smaller scale this time around, so capacity is reduced. Having a pre-order system allows us to manage our stock, meet demand and the needs of our customers.
There will always be a few extras for sale on the collection days.
Our focus as ever is sustainability, provenance and quality of raw ingredients.
That means stoneground, regenerative flour, organic dairy, seasonal fruit and vegetables - all sourced from as locally as possible.
Above all we're about making delicious food.
